2005 Mini Cooper S Gearbox Problem

Has anyone had any issues with their gearbox, re linkage? Movement between gates damn-nigh impossible. The problem seems to be inconstistent in that one day it'll be fine, the next it's as above.

It has been looked at and i'm told it was a linkage problem but should've now been resolved... it is going back to the garage as it hasn't- but i wondered if this is a recurring problem and what to expect.

The end of the links freeze due to care not been taken of the car. Maintenance says they should be lubricated to stop this happening. Water gathers on the cable ends and makes it hard to change gear, keep them greased up and you will have no issues

Only picked it up last week... will take a look tomorrow then... cheers.

Bit of WD40 on the links will sort you out and then just get some grease in there on the wire and you will be ok
