Both appeal to me, I'm torn which way to go. I know the pitfalls of going down the Integrale route, my brother had 2. SZs seem to be even rarer to find than a few years ago, at least theres a few Evos about for a price..

Not sure this is going to help... I've got an SZ and even after nearly 5 years of ownership i still love it. However one of the few cars i could be tempted to swap it for would be an Integrale... As i said that doesnt help much does it!

The SZ registrar for the Alfa Owners Club normally knows of any cars for sale, so that would be a good place to start aside from the classifieds obviously. You could also try my local specialist Alfa Aid on 01628 788887, they look after lots of SZ's and indeed sourced and prepared mine.

Good luck, Philip

I had an integrale - a 16v, not an evo - directly before my RZ.

The integrale was a great car, but the RZ is a better one. The SZ is (unsurprisingly) a better drive than the RZ, so that would definitely be my choice out of those two.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that the integrale is over-rated, more that the SZ perhaps doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

Thanks for your help chaps. Interesting that I'm not the only one into these 2 cars, they both have appeal in their own way. I considered both cars when they were new, now I'm catching up with lost time :-)

I see Alfa aid aren't far from me...great!

I've got an SZ and a 155 Q4 which is more or less an Integrale with a boot laugh

Imho they are totally different cars and not really comparable...if I really had to choose I guess it'd be the SZ, but then I'd always miss the Q4 spin

Sorry, not much help at all...but good luck with your search.

If you're close to Alfa Aid then you're also close to me as I'm about 3 miles from them. If you want to look over an SZ let me know - always happy to show mine off smile

I'm in Earley, so not far away and would love to see the car sometime.

I can't find a single SZ on the UK market at the moment!!

Looking at the alternative, theres a nice Verde York Integrale at Walkers, a blue one at Hairpin and a red one at Grahame Hunt. Thats the only ones I would consider.

I guess I just have to be patient. Both cars have appeal, but in different ways.

There's a good SZ for sale in Dubai at the moment. The guy is a Kiwi living there and his father rubs the Lancia register in NZ. He's advertised it in NZ to start, not sure why, but then he's said it's going on ebay, maybe you could beat someone to the punch and get in early. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Alfa... It is genuine, he also has an integrale Evo, so you could ask him what he thinks of both. I can supply his email address if you want it.

Contact the AROC SZ Registrar, he often knows of cars for sale or even owners just thinking of selling:

Hey look at that! He said it wasn't going on ebay yet, never mind, guess he really wants to sell it. Would be a great adventure to drive it back to the UK from the UAE!

That's one of the benefits of living where you do. Try it down here in NZ, not nearly as much choice!

I know the Dubai SZ as well. It's been fully restored and the owner is a proper enthusiast.

... I'm planning to auction my red SZ in the spring, but of course would sell before if the deal was right smile. UK car would want 16K which those in the know is a very attractive price.

Actually I got frustrated trying to sell in August, they're 20 years old so most will have some wear and tear and I had 2-3 tyre kickers/time wasters mess me about before I took it off the market.
