Hi All,
There seemed to be a time when alot of Z4M Coupes were shod with M3 CSL alloys, but there seem to be less around now.

Is this because:

1) The fitment has been found to cause problems

or

2) Most people take them off and sell them seperately

Just interested as i like the CSL look.

The fitment does not cause any problems.

I guess most people take them off and sell them separately, because they get more money that way.

There's no fitment problem and they're not cheap (nor are the tyres), so maybe people are getting bored with the 'must have CSLs look' and are going for other options?

I love the look of them, but just prefer a slightly softer ride that the higher profile tyres on 18"s give over the 19"s.

Hmmm not sure "softer" and the Z4MC should go together. I'm sure mine gave me Emma Freuds. wink

IMHO the CSL's on a Z4M look fantastic - no issues I am aware of.

They are likely to be sold on seperately on the basis that they will make a car more attractive (possibly) but not worth any more, but alone will fetch a good price.

I have the CSL's for a while and I think the look superb. There are only 2 downsides in mine opinion: you see them a lot (in Holland no problem, there are very few Z4M's) and 18inch (stock) drives a lot better.

Currently: 19inch CSL PS2 daily/18inch stock R888 track/E46 M3 Zero Nero-Wanli drift smile

the ride is alot harder and they tramline alot on 19's, but they look alot better. On the track on the right tyres it makes the world of difference

No probs with 19's much better than a 3.0si on 18 run flats. Basically drive one, it's a fast twitchy he-man car. If you don't like it buy something else!

I run 18's in winter, and they are a little less edgy in ride and handling. But in the sweet summer air you can't beat the consistency of 19's just look in the alps for smeary 11's round most of the hair pins :0)

I have just brouht myself a Z4M Coupe and tried both 19's and 18's on the cars i tested and although the csl rims look great they for me where a bit to hard and they do tramline, So mine has 18's but i have fitted some 12mm spacers on back to fill out the rear arches and it now looks great and i still have the better ride,

A bit of context is required here I think. Yes the ride is harder but not much and even then its OK. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is Rolls Royce soft and 10 is Evo VI hard I would place the Z4M on CSL's at about 7.

Nor did I, tramlining is negligible as well. For me, if there are negative aspects of fitting CSL's, they are so small as to be not worthy of any concern plus you have less unsprung weight over the originals. Importantly they make the car look superb, an area where the original 18's fail miserably IMO.

Fitting Eibach Springs improves the ride imho. Stiffer at speed but more compliant in town.
