Did anyone see Fifth Gear last night? Tiff took a 5 Series BMW over 90 MPH on flat tyres with no apparent handling problems using the new run-flat tyres. Should I consider them for my 993TT when I need a new set of tyres?

Every review of the new 5 series in magazines says that the run-flat tyres give a bad ride though and you cannot order the car without run-flats in the bigger sizes.

I would expect that BMW have set the suspension up to accomodate these tyres.

I recall the sidewall is 3 times stiffer than a regular tyre. The cars on test looked like they run a higher profile than a 993TT would..

I am sure a TT would ride even harder than normal, the suspension may need to be modified to make it bearable, that is of course assuming these tyres are available in such low profiles.
