BMW E32 Owners
Discussion
Hi all, I've come by a BMW E32 730 1994 at a good price and would like to keep it for a while as I love old BMWs.
I would like to go through all the maintenance that is required, as I own a garage labour cost is not an issue.
The car has just been through its MOT and requires front and rear brake pads, some anti-roll bar bushes and a headlight bulb.
I will do a full service on it firstly but have some questions as well. The previous owner did not really look after it so I would rather do too much than too little.
What is the best oil to use - 0W40?
Is it worth doing an engine flush as well?
Would it benefit from premium fuel at all?
Worth doing a gearbox oil change?
Power steering and brake fluid change?
I will post some pictures once I've given it a good clean and done the MOT rectification work.
With kind regards

I have a 530i e34 which has the same engine + autobox, think my friend used 10W40 for the service. Change of gearbox oil not really required. As for engine flush I was advised not to and was told an old engine that is clean and bedded in doesn't need it and may actually cause problems.
I've found running on 95 or 99 fuel gives same performance and economy (drinks like a fish) so I save my money!
Wouldn't hurt to change steering + brake fluids, also front shocks tend to take a beating so check for any loss of damping effect (heavy engine).
e32's and 34's both tend to get a little neglected as they are so robust nothing goes wrong on them!
Be nice to see some piccies, definitley the most elegant car BMW made.

10w40 is your best bet! I have a 1994 730i too! Get yourself over to www.the7seriesregister.co.uk for all your needs! They really the most helpful bunch (as well as PHers of course).
