Just a thread seeing if a list could be compiled of special editions or limited editions of cars which are affordable. More interested in ones which have a heritage or homage to something and were produced in limited numbers.

Here's a few off the top of my head which I quite like.

Honda Civic Jordan (500?) Special Yellow paint job and Hornet Mascot
Rover 200 BRM (1000?) Green with Orange grill and red interior
Subaru Impreza P1 (1000?) Blue 3 door
Subaru Impreza Colin McRae (?) Darker blue with McRae decal and plaque?
Subaru Impreza RB5 (?) for R Burns' success with Subaru
(OK I'll stop with the Subaru's cos they've got quite a few)
Evo 6 tommi makinen edition (?)
Honda Civic VTIS (200 of each Shape) Pirates black

This kinda where I get stuck...

I dont know why, but knowing a car has only limited numbers really makes me want one a bit more... Especially the Jordan and the Rover as there both quite marmite cars.

Anymore ideas and corrections welcome! biggrin

EFA - Cant ignore the RB5

Where do you live? IIRC You bought your Iggy not long ago, once the snow had come? Not a drop of snow in the pics! :O

Think only 1000 or something Iggy's made it to the UK
250 of each of the 4 colours.

Rover 200 BRM Less than 900 made for UK market. As you say Brooklands Green with Orange grille, LSD, lowered and uprated suspension, 1.8 K-series VVC with 143 BHP, and a subtle red-leather interior!

or

MG ZT-T 260. Available as Rover or MG, saloon or estate. Only 833 made in total! (Take a Rover 75, throw away the engin/transmission and undercarriage and get Prodrive to turn it into RWD with LSD and shoe-horn a 4.6 lite Mustang GT engine and Tremec gearbox in!) smile

MX-5.

Default PH answer, but they did do a lot of limited run specials, which can all be had for under £4k (Mk.1s anyway). The UK ones mostly had fancy leather and wheels, but the JDM ones were a bit different, such as the RS-limited (1500 made, kevlar Recaros, BBS alloys, Torsen LSD, lighter flywheel and a few other gubbins).

Lol if we're doing PH defaults then the new PH fave Puma?

Ford Racing Puma? 500 to hit UK? Tuned for 160bhp?
Plus the other Puma's which are classified as special/limited editions with different colours ect.

Clio sport trophy was in limited edition. All in red and rather nice seats and I believe that suspension had independent resevoires in each corner, which must be a good thing.

That's a poor seller, not a limited edition.

There's loads of cars like this! Some that haven't been mentioned:

Peugeot 106 Rallye - not sure how many were made, but both the S1 and S2 are rare.
Honda Civic Type R (EP3) - in 2003 there was a 30th Anniversary Edition (red Recaros amongst other things) with 300 made. There was also a run-out model in 2005 called the Premier Edition, which added similar bits to the Anniversary one IIRC.
Ford Focus ST500 - black with silver stripes and red leather interior. 500 made.
Ford Fiesta ST500 - similar colour scheme to the Focus, but with black wheels. No red interior. 500 made.
Millions of various MX-5 / Eunos Roadster 'special editions'.
Audi A4 DTM Edition (B7) - uprated engine and body modifications.
BMW 320si (E90) - engine upgrades and lovely wheels for World Touring Car homologation.

There are millions more!

Alfa Romeo 147 and 156 GTAs must be worth a mention, only a few hundred of each sold. Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500, Escort Cosworth Monte, Capri Brooklands (1038 built if I recall correctly). This could be a long thread.

yes
Some Sachs remote reservoir dampers, which are apparently rather expensive to replace if they go wrong...

Indeed, there is quite a difference. There were 444 RB5`s, less than half with the WR Sport kit and about a hundred are gone/scrapped/smashed now.

Oh, and the Toyota Celica GT-Four WRC. 2500 made to homologate the Group A rally car, 300 of which came to Europe.
