Right, time to scratch the automatic seiko itch, and I've narrowed it down to these three -

Which one should I choose, and why?

SKZ211K1

Black Monster

SKX007K2

At this stage, short of buying all three (why not! hehe ) I am leaning towards the SKX007K2

However, I understand that some Seikos are made in Korea, and others in Japan - with the Japanese made ones being the better watches, is this true? That being so, which categories do the above fall into?

I'll be reading with interest.

It's between the SKZ211K1 and the Monster for me.

I'd love to see a Monster in the flesh, because in pictures I vary from loving it to hating it.

I think the hands and numerals look more elegant on the SKZ211K1 than they do the Monster. I guess they'll be less common too (though, like I say, I've never seen a Monster on someone's wrist before).

Well, I wouldn't get the first one as I don't like the use of yellow on that watch. I bought a black Monster and an SKX007 at the same time and sold the Monster; it's a great watch but the dial feels cluttered - I think the hands and batons are too big for the space as the bezel is quite thick. It's also pretty unsubtle. The SKX007 looks and feels more classy yet maintains that sportiness, plus it has a similarly great lume - I still have it although it is in such a good condition that I rarely wear it.

The Monster just mings - end of.

The Atlas is a nice watch, but crowns on both sides made mine uncomfortable to wear.

You could do much worse the get the 007 or a 009

Seiko Atlas.

Why.

Because it's the best out of the three, and the yellow fingers are striking.
Excellent.

You've helped me make my decision.

Now I've got some saving to do biggrin

SKX007K2

Just a little cleaner in the face. I'm not a fan of large hands on watch faces.

Indeed, they do a white face with yellow pointers, and a white face with white pointers too.
Oh, thank you.

Must...resist...

Aye, and this is where it starts to get odd.

The dark blue bezel version seems to be made in Japan, whereas the black bezel, with yellow hands, isn't.

(as far as I can work out)

Same movement and description. Perhaps they are assembled in different locations?

Got a black Monster myself on a bracelet, and I know it'll sound biased but I'd still pick that over the others. I liked the look of the Atlas when I first became aware of it but it just seems a little busy now, the 007 is a fine looking thing though so I'd put it a close 2nd. The Monster is just a lovely chunk of metal IMO, I'm surprised that there are so few votes for it! Would post some of my own pics but I won't be on my own PC 'til this evening....

I do like that blue dial one. £122.

And parents gave me £120 for Christmas to buy a new freezer.
