Unknown part needed
Discussion
Hi guys. Uncovered several inches of ice from my mk1 today only to find the plastic part between the windscreen and the bonnet had cracked!! It is the plastic part from which the wipers comes out from. Been on mx5parts but have been unable to find it. Has anyone had this problem before or know which part I am after? Help would be much appreciated! Thanks.
I think this is the part I am after!

Does anyone know how easy this is to fit?

1. Remove the windscreen wipers and arms.
2. Remove the 2 x oval endcaps and 5 circular endcaps. If you're planning on keeping these caps as spares, then you'll need to get at the caps from underneath the grille. Rod's manual recommends fashioning a curved tool to get at the cap release tabs. As I wasn't keeping any of the endcaps I just dug them out from above with a screwdriver. Doing this obviously damages both the caps and grille itself.
3. Unscrew the 2 screws at either end and keep them to one side.
4. Remove the 5 middle section screws, and then remove the plastic clips these screwed into by squeezing the tabs from underneath (look at the new grille as a guide on what you should be doing.
5. Lift away the grille and discard.
6. Put the new grille in place, and push the 5 plastic clips into position
7. Insert and screw down the 2 end screws, and insert the 2 oval plastic covers.
8. Replace the windscreen arms and wipers.
