Main Dealers still closed today?

I guess if they've done the maths then fair enough, and everyone's entitled to a holiday, but I'm a little surprised to be phoning around main dealers today to see if they've got a vehicle in their showrooms only to find they seemingly aren't even open.

They may be opening at 10.30 or 11am but I'd assumed so far as most retail businesses that that today is "just a normal day"?

So if they are going to open it would probably be Sunday hours.

Sunday opening for some (me) 10.00am-4.00pm.

Most will be usual opening tomorrow and on Thursday, a half day on Friday. Yes, it is quite nice to have a few days off, like 'normal people'.

You're not the only one, I didn't know that either.

Was Christmas Day Bank Holiday yesterday. Cos both fell on the weekend, the actual Bank Hols are "postponed" until the next couple of working days.

Same thing will happen next year as well, I think.

Sort of. Christmas Day is Sunday, so we get Monday as Boxing Day proper and BH Tuesday in lieu of Sunday.

2012 gives us Christmas day on the Tuesday as it is a leap year so back to normal just 2 days, and reduction in disagreement about when Boxing Day actually is Whether anybody in business or industry will bother working on the Monday might be the question ?

We closed on Wednesday last week and don't open again until 4th January.

There are 3 of us in our department so we've each got 1 of the days off before NYE.
