Looking for a little bit of help please. I've got a 2008 520d M Sport and over this period of bad weather my washer jets stopped working, I assumed they'd frozen (which they had) however now we have temps back over +1 they work but only once for about 1.5 secs after the car has just been started, then they stop. Stopping the car and taking the key out and restarting will make them work again for another 1.5 secs (always full power) then they will stop again.

Any ideas would be greatly received as BMW are closed and I need to go to Cambridge tomorrow and Scotland on Fri, Yikes!!

Cheers

Check your pipes, if they're anything like the earlier cars they can pop off. If it's only running for 1.5 seconds consistently it could be frozen near the pump?

Blocked filter in the screenwash reservoir? Happened on both my E46 and my E90. Maybe fixable under warranty at a BMW dealer?

Thanks for the replies fellas, I had a little jiggle with the pipes low down at the bottle end of things, topped up with screen wash concentrate and hey presto!

Thanks again.

Common problem can be the washer bottle getting blocked by crap from water etc. I had a look in mine recently to find a small amount of brown crud around the bottom stopping the screen wash from getting through. Sifted most of it out and works well again.
