which HD video camera??

hi been looking for a video camera to stick on the car..

Dont really like the bullet cameras now so looking at small HD video cameras which I can use the zoom and attatch to the car for speed shots.

Dont want anything too bulky but cheap too(dont want much do I?

Any suggestions?

Kodak PlaySport. Missus won one at some event or other, and its pretty good. Compact, fairly rugged, showerproof. Not sure how well the audio would cope outside the car, but the rest would be good.

Also has HDMI out, which is a bonus.

Removing the screen massivley reduces the size of the camera also removes the fragilest bit.
GoPro wins for me, simple, easy, unbreakable.

GoPro is the nuts if you want in car/on surf/on handlebar/mid air HD footage. Almost indestructable and completely waterproof with stunning results. I've used half a dozen video cameras in cars over the past 20 years, GoPro is the best so far.

I've just noticed the other contender in this - the Contour HD comes with blue tooth capability for originally GPS tracking , however they've just released an Iphone APP which allows you to see on your phone what your camera sees in real time.

Handy for lining up camera and knowing what your filming.

You'll also see the detachable lcd screen in this clip, apparently you'll be able to mount the camera anywhere and hold the screen in your hand to see the shot, it's also a stop/start remote control. Transmits upto 60ft IIRC
