hi all

i knew this would get your attension !

i'm trying to get new brake bleed nipples for my s3 without any luck at the moment
i need 2 for the front disc callipers and 2 for the rear slave cylinders

does anyone know the size i should be looking for ? so i can order online from somewhere ?

aprox size is 10 mm dia x 37 mm long and quite a fine thread , i dont think its a metric thread , 3/8" dia x 1 1/2" long

can anyone put me in the right direction please

Where you been trying ? any half decent car spares place or motor factors should be able to help. Take old ones with you if possible as patterns but being Ford Sierra in origin pretty sure they'll be metric. If you've been asking for bits for a TVR you probably will have got a lot of "blank looks"

Personnally for what they cost I'd replace wheel cylinders at the back and be done with, new ones will come c/w new bleed valves

I bought mine with other bits from brakeparts.co.uk but beware there are 2 different lengths (well maybe more I guess) the shortest ones weren't long enough for my front calipers.
The thread is M10 x 1.0 which is a standard brake pipe thread.

+1 the two lengths are 30mm and 37mm approx - short for the rear drums on an S3 and long for the calipers

thankyou guys !

armed with the M10 nipple size info and the two different lenghts i've just picked them up from my local car factor , who this morning said "man at the counter" you'll would be lucky to get those! even tho i showed him what i wanted , when i phoned them with the sizes i required the man on the other end said "yes we have those in stock" ?

just goes to show when you know what to ask for lol

total cost £2.61 for the 4 , fords wanted £4.20 + vat for one nipple that nearly £20
