Hi guys,
currently using a van as my daily smoker but what with the weather I've been thinking of a 4x4 & a rangie would be the only way I'd like to go.
Now, assuming I'd send £5-6k I'm surprised at what you can find out there. What do you guys think? I don't know much about them but would I be buying a money pit? Changing discs & pads is about the limit of my monkey skills & I don't want something that's gonna cost me a fortune to run. What are these 2.5 deisels like to run? Obviously performance doesn't matter, I'd more just like something to waft around in but how do they stand up to town driving (parking won't be an issue & it's a short journey to work) ?
All help greatly recieved biggrin

Assuming you are talking about the P38, I have put down my experiences Here
By all accounts the diesel is a complete slug.

For that amount of money I would go for a Jeep Grand Cherokee instead, less likely to need much money spending on it, newer as well. I have had 3 Rangies, and now have a JGC (well, it is really my wife's car).
