Track Rod end help..

Hi guys, I'm fitting a new track rod end (cerb SP6 2003) and I can't get it to tighten. When I tighten the nut from below as it winds it way up the thread the thread start to turn as I tighten the nut. What am I doing wrong!!

Try using a non nyloc nut first to get it wedged in, then if your lucky you might be able to wind the nyloc nut on

Or you could use large pliers to clamp the two together then try winding the nut on

Just tap the TRE down with a soft faced hammer so that the taper engages, thats normally sufficient.

In this cold weather it just might be necessary to warm the nylocs up on a radiator before fitting

Thanks Guys,

It's sorted, there was an Allan key slot on the bottom of the shaft which allowed me to keep the shaft still while I wound the nut up.
