Friday should be a track day
Discussion
Nothing happens on friday so I think it would be a fantastic opportunity to drive the track. The ACO would make a mint at say £120 per lap - with a minimum of 2 laps - and the fans could fulfill a dream. Plenty of willing marshalls, and it could be policed by ACO cars and spotters to stop the nutters. Would probably lessen the Max Power mob too ?

Lessen the Max Power Mob??????? FM that would only increase the Max Power mob, £20 a lap, you wouln't catch me anywhere near the track with that bunch of utter muppets!! Even Classic Le Mans track laps are £100 for 2 laps and at least they're people who care about their cars and others around them!! I'm happy doing 130+ down the Mulsanne with them, but with a bunch of idiots, no thanks!
These guys don't think twice about other people's property at the road side, let alone on track at 150+ ....

Could also control it by only allowing aco members on, and having to give race tickets in before, which are only returnable if you follow the rules ie. No stopping on track - for burnouts/photos/donuts. Or other reported reckless driving.
The basis being parade laps rather than a track day or racing.
Also if you bin it, it would be your loss and also open to police investigation a la nurburgring.

Was fun at the classic, until heading flat out down the Mulsane finding people swapping drivers in the middle of the track.
Yes....had a buttock clenching moment myself then!!
Couldn't believe this happened when the run-off area at Mulsanne curve was ideally suited to this activity.
In true French fashion, the Marshalls were leaning on the armco - Gauloise in mouth, observing the frenzied braking coming into Mulsanne!

I am sure some people would love a trackday, but I think closing the roads on Friday aswell is just a complete non starter, the marshalls need time off, the fans need to be able to get to/from campsites we can all use those parts of the track that our public roads and we don't have to pay.

The good bits were really good though!!
Fortunately, in quite a powerful car, I'd managed to get clear between leaving the holding bay and the pit straight, so had a fantastic run to catch up the group in front! I feel very lucky to have driven it
