Eric you are right. The German producer did all the singing but presumably wasn't a stage performer, so he drafted in Bobby Farrell in that role.

It's been noted that, somewhat ironically, both Rasputin and Bobby Farrell died in St Petersburg on the 29th December (some 94 years apart obviously)

Presumably, only one of their deaths involved an ice pick

When I first heard this news I did assume he might have over-partied ala John Entwistle, but it seems he was noted as being short of breath before and after a show.
