All...need a bit of help here.

I'll soon be starting a new job, and qualify for company car cash alternative.

They set certain criteria on what to buy, and it must:-

.Seat 4 adults
.Be a tin top
.Done less than 15K miles
.Have 75% or more of manufacturers warrenty in place.
.Will be changed at 5 years or 100K
.I'll have £400 gross to spend (can top up from my own funds)

I've never bought new as I can't see the point in taking the depreciation hit, but the >75% warrenty will force me to get something less than 9 months old if it has a 3 year warrenty.

I've never leased either but was thinking about that option.

As a guide I'd like something mondeo sized, but possibly focus size too, and quite like Saab 9-3. I'll probably go diesel too.

Any help appreciated
Cheers
Ant

With those restrictions in place I'd just take the company car. £400 pcm gross is circa £275 net - take off the running costs of the car, that leaves you with £200pcm to buy a car less than 9 months old.

I know its not exotic but the Kia Ceed had a five year warranty, the newer ones have seven I think, fills your criteria smile

ask about, some schemes are offered in the hope that only a madman would take up the offer. Look closely at the company car scheme...

For the reasons outlined above I'd stick with the company car scheme. At first glance it might appear you have a decent budget and can get something exciting, but it isn't really that big an allowance. The upside is that you'll be able to enjoy the delights of a brand new car for the first time in your life and have all the fun of speccing it up exactly how you like it.
