G2 or 450d twin kit?

been toying with a dslr as a compact upgrade, started looking at gf1 then the G2 panny, but I can get the 450d with two lens for the same price, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CANON-EOS-450D-12MP-DIGITAL-...

I know lens choices are more for the canon and cheaper, but its a little bulkier, but its all subjective when your lugging a dslr imho. dpreview is a good friend of mine, but would like peoples view on here.

Beware, buying a DSLR is one of the quickest ways of spending money known to man.

I bought a Canon 550 in June. That was £700 back then.
I have prabably spent an extra £2000 since then on kit for it and my next purchase is a £1400 lens.
It gets to you and turns your interest in piccies into a full blown hobby. All great fun but the dslr body is just the start.

I'm terrible with any hobby i take up, so expect this to be just like the simple land rover I brought!

The good thing with the canon is the expandability. I have always enjoyed taking pics, and did it at gcse, but the compact casio just leaves me dissapointed.
