getting my 2.5 engine speced for around 450 bhp
has anyone else done this and had any problems
already had gearbox done and clutch upgrade
steve
What are you having done to get to this level of bhp?has anyone else done this and had any problems

steve
ive not heard of a 2.5 with that amount of power.
Are you changing pistons etc??
Steve
its all pretty much the same stuff as a 3.0
make sure you have forged pistons
uprated valve springs
bigger turbo's
bigger injectors
uprated fuel pump
uprated intercooler
ehaust
gearbox (6 speed preffered)
remap
you should be able to use a focus RS flywheel and paddle clutch
porting the cylinder heads is a good idea if you have the time and money, a set of cams will help too

WAUW !
What's the price tag for that performance :s ?
I've done basically the same except not potted the head and staying with the STD turbos (only had the recon a couple of months ago). Not sure yet if I need bigger injectors but if anyone knows where I can get a cheap set then let me know.
Steve, I think the only thing to worry about is the boost level. I think any more than 1.2 then you risk the head gasket as I here it's the o ly weak point on the 2.5 over the 3.0. Txt me an I'll explain more.
All my bits are off being balanced as we speak and the rebuild will start next week

hi bondy
i know there is a problem with head gasket thats why Lee has lowered
compression to 8.3 and running bigger and more efficent turbos and porting head
with this set up at 1 bar will be getting nearer 500bhp but i wont to be running
no more than .8 bar for about 450 460 bhp
any way untill i get on dyno nothing is certain as you know
glad you have all your bits
shame you got rods u could have had my forged set cheap

Hi Hans
cost of rebuild has been expensive, but depends what gains you want
costs have been high cos im getting hi power without hi boost
turbos are not cheap but they are roller bearing type which run cooler which will
keep temps down, with smaller oil input.
when all done will post costs on forum

Not sure you know but the std rods (arrow) are forged.
