Finally took her for a Spin!!

This weather is no good for us is it! i have had the old girl tucked up in the garage for weeks. Hoping for the cold snap to end, so that the gritting stops. Then waiting for a bloomin good rain storm to wash the salt off the roads. Then waiting for a dry couple of days to dry off the wet roads!
But today was that day!!!!!
It was SO good to hear her roar into life with the 1st turn of the key. Then a nice gentle 20mins, then after that a little bit of fun
It;s not easy being a TVR owner is it!

Yes was exactly the same for me. Car under cover and tucked away in the garage for atleast 6 weeks and only done 40 miles in 2 months. I must confess to having listened to the radio whilst sat in her a few times but it really doesn't have the same bass note!. I'm back to work today and the forecast was for more snow so yesterday was the day. Gave her a quick check over, turned the key and she fired in seconds and sounded just perfect.
Steady 10 minute drive to warm her through and then 10 minutes at 70 (ish). Was definately worth the wait and reminded me why I always wanted and always will want a tiv.

Had my first day out in my Cerb yesterday after 5 weeks, I have been changing ball joints and bushes on the front near side etc, while the weather has been crap in Scotland. And having completed one side I went out for a 20 min drive. Just a little casual drive about but It was great getting behind the wheel again. The car started first time but I expected that as it is on an accumate charger in the garage. The car is now on SORN for the next few months and I am changing ball joints and bushes and powder coating the wishbones on the front drivers side.Roll on the Spring.

Need to do 500 miles before chassis gets a spanner check. Doubled the 40 miles done since getting her back early December. Now done 95 miles since April
With the extended period of downtime you don't reme,ber quite just how fun these are to drive.
But like riding a bike it comes back in a few miles. When to change up/down and when to hold.
Bit nippy with the roof off. Especially on the hands and fingers, but you just do not get that lovely odour of warm engine oil wafting over you with the roof up.
