Headlight button stuck - help!

Put the headlight button on today and didn't quite feel right going in.
When coming to turn the lights off the button won't release.

Is there any simple way of getting this out or is it going to be a complicated job?

At the moment I have just removed the relevant fuse.
Will that stop the battery going flat?

Any help or advice greatly appreciated

If you mean the dip headlights, just turn the side lights off, that will also kill the dip's.

Also, gently try flicking the stuck button with something sharpish, they can flick to the side and wedge in.

To fix properly you may need to take the dash panel out and adjust the frame behind.

Sometimes the panel that holds the sidelight button and the headlight button and the warning panel lights comes loose. If I remember right all these are attached to a single metal bracket that is bolted on to two fasteners, one at each end, and the fasteners are only glued on to the back of the dash plate. If one fastener comes away from the glue it can mean the bracket slips slightly and the lights buttons don't line up with the holes properly, meaning a pushed-in button can't release itself through the hole.

If you remove the radio (and possible pull out the air vent) it is possible to get a small hand in through the radio hole and behind the light switch bracket to get some glue there again or at least move the bracket enough to release the button again.

To get a permanent fix on the glue you would have to disassemble the dash plate and pull it forward enough to get in behind - which isn't a major job, but is a major faff and you risk dislodging any number of other wire connections etc.
