Panasonic RW2 format

I am trying to process some Panasonic Lumix FZ100 images that were taken with a friend's camera. However, I cannot find anything on the internet to convert the RW2 images to a 16 bit format.

There doesn't appear to be anything on Panasonic's website, and all the 3rd party programmes that I have found only convert to an 8 bit format.

Is there an application that allows you to process a Lumix raw image?

The software that comes with it, or did when I got my fz28 a few years ago, was called silkypix or something.

Yes, Panasonic provide a program called Silkypix as mentioned above.

Does this Silkypix do a conversion to 16 bit tiff? I'll probably get it from the camera's owner tomorrow - so I will get the answer.

I'm astonished that Panasonic do not make it easier to convert their RAW files. After all, this is one of the major reasons to buy a Lumix.

I borrowed a friend's Lumix today, and I cannot process the images. If I had borrowed a Canon, then I would have processed the images several hours ago.

I had this problem with my Lumix trying to find a program to edit the photos.
I use IrfanView with the PlugIns installed to allow you to convert .RW2 files

I am very surprised that Panasonic don't provide a simple conversion routine to some standard formats.
