I've notice oil on the mat in the drivers footwell just below the clutch pedal. Has anyone any ideas where this is coming from and what is needed to rectify the problem. I should say that its not bad but I presume that it should'nt be there!

My Griff does that, its from the clutch master cylinder. The seal is leaking. Its not that difficult a job to do, just make sure you get the right parts as their are a few types apparently. Im toying with the idea of doing mine soon.

Was going to post the same question myself. Must be a very slight leak as theres just a discolouring of the mat and the pedal arm just feels greasy, not dripping.

Is it a 'must fix that soon' rather than a 'get me to a garage immediately' type problem?

Doesn't sound like a show stopper, but keep an eye on the clutch fluid level. If the reservoir runs out you'll suddenly find yourself with no clutch pedal at all.

Just got a price from Waldonway (TVR garage) for replacing master cylinder £118 inc. VAT. They say its not very easy to fit. Apparently there is a cover inside the engine bay that has to be removed inorder to get to the cylinder. They also said they are prone to weeping. I am always worried about getting half way through a job and not being able to finish it. Has anybody replaced this part on a Chimaera and if so was it reasonable straight forward?
