I've done a quick search but couldn't find anything conclusive, so sorry if this has been asked a million times before.

I'm looking at a 325i E92, largely because I do quite a lot of miles and the published fuel figures for the 325 seem to be very good, I know publised figures are optimistic at best, but does anyone know how far out the 325i's figures are?

The 325 started life as a 2.5 in the E9x then changed to 3.0, detuned 330i lump. Fuel consumption between them both will be minimal. I'd go for the 330i.

Well since 30MPG has been posted i would say published fuel figures are spot on rather than optimistic.
Do we have a diesel nudging 40MPG ?

All the qouted figures I've seem are 39mpg? 9mpg less is hardly spot on?!

My E90 325i is always around this figure, although my commute is to blame for most of that!!

And yes it was -15.5

Hi All,

I own e92 325i (2.5l) and can't do better than 22mpg on average. I mostly commute (around 7 miles) each way. It's not really warm recently, but I still think that it's quite a lot... any thoughts? Commute I do is 90% quite smooth city, low traffic commute + 10% motorway.

my 330i N52 is sitting at around 19 average, devastating!

Will be getting inspected soon and hopefully rectified (assuming anything is 'broken')

These mpg figures sound fair enough for the description given by owners.

I never thought I have heavy foot, but maybe you're right. I will keep an eye on it.

7 miles is naff all, it will likely not be completely up to temperature at the end of that journey. Also the colder weather will absolutely have an adverse effect on MPG. My E46 330ci averaged 28 MPG a tank, now in the winter it’s down to 24.

t's all about how you use the car.

My 325ti Compact was showing an average of 34.9 mpg when I sold it after 23K miles.

My E91 325i is showing an average of 35.3 mpg after 5K miles.

My E86 is showing an average of 33.6 mpg after 10K+ miles.

But I never used any of them in rush-hours, and at least 95% of the time I'm on dual-carriageway A-roads or Motorways. laugh
