That light also doubles as the low brake fluid warning light(The second being its primary use). It either comes on when the handbrake is on or when the brake fluid is low.
I'd have a check of that.

Hello

The brake fluid does not seem to be low, but i will top it up in the morning.
I have also checked the wires.

Could it be anything else??

The more normal configuration is power to the lamp with the circuit completed to earth via either the low fluid switch or the handbrake switch.

Therefore for the light to be on....
One of the switches is defective. Try disconnecting them.
The wiring has shorted somewhere.
The handbrake switch has fallen off or is badly adjusted.

If the brake pads have wear sensors in, that will put that light on as well.
