Just arrived home from my new years hols to find that my beautiful M5 has been stolen from the Walsall area Staffordshire.

I know you guys are fab at spotting cars if anyone sees a Black M5 LM07DRO driving around or for sale anywhere please let me or the Police know.

I know this is a long shot and the car will probably never be seen again but any help will be gratefully received.
Thanks to you all

No tracker? I hope that wasnt a condition of your insurance as I couldnt find a single company to cover mine without one.

The theiving b******s broke into my house too, in order to get the keys from a locked desk.

Hi Skeeterm5, the insurance company didn't insist on a tracker (I checked when we purchased it its a fleet policy so maybe that is why) although it was due to have one fitted next week !

Unless the thief knows it has no Tracker, it will likely be parked up somewhere secluded so it can be monitored for Police activity.

Hope it gets found quickly!

99% of professional car thieves have tracker jammers anyway so they are nigh on useless. Insurance companies only insist on them so they can void the policies of the ones who lied about having one fitted.

Ive always been of the mind that if mine got stolen i would hope i never got it back. I'd hate to get it back to find it damaged, ragged sensless and violated. Hopefully yours will be returned unmolested and as you left it. If not then i hope your insurance company is quicker than most in settling the claim, the sad fact is most will wait 12 months to pay up if the car is not found.

Good luck, i'll keep my eyes peeled. I take it the car is a saloon?

Bad luck, I would be gutted if my car were taken. And even if found I am not sure I would want it back.

Best of luck.

I had a car stolen with a Tracker on it, car got recovered and I got it back.....and had no idea how badly it had been thrashed in that period. I wouldn't bother with a Tracker again for that reason, would rather have the pay out than a potentially ragged to death car.

On the other hand, it may get picked up immediately.

So you'd rather, at most an hour or two of thrashing (eg one not great cold start, then the equivalent of a few laps around a track) than a st offer from your insurance company for a loss, and a mark on your file for 5 years?

If the car disappeared for 24 hours plus I'd totally agree, but i think i'd rather my car back over all the ball ache that would follow a total loss.

Agreed - my one experience of negotiating a value for a total loss was not one I would readily repeat. Valuation initially 25% below a sensible figure and took over six months to get a modest upward movement out of the insurance company and an eventual payout.

Hi mate, for your info a UK plate M5 Saloon was involved in a car chase in Belgium yesterday. It was spotted speeding on the highway and was persued by a police Audi A8. A chase began and when they hit 170mph the Audi topped out but the M5 continued. After afew miles the M5 was out of sight and after 50 miles the chase was called off. The M5 is believed to have crossed into france but no further sightings have been made as the road blocks could not be put in place in time.

Just though i'd let you know mate. Might be worth giving the plod a call and asking them to phone the Belgians to see if they got a plate.

I had a total loss M5 recently and accepted the first offer as I thought it was very reasonable.
