Exhibit A.

The most fking useless fking stupid fking moronic fking thing I have had the displeasure of interacting with so far this year.

Opening a bottle of oil should be as easy as unscrewing the damn thing and breaking a seal.

This fking thing is so fking stupid, it is almost beyond belief. It says opening instructions on reverse of label, but they weren't. I had a feeling it was likely to be a bit dodgy in the finger slicing department, but managed to prise it open. Then I noticed it has an outer 'moat' around the spout which collects a measure of oil which will leak out when the lid is snapped back on, so you can only store it upright. Then I needed to open it again, and struggled, and then sliced my fingers.

The most fking useless fking stupid oil filler bottle cap/spout ever!

I wish I'd bought the Mobil 1 instead, the extra £16 would have been worth every penny just to avoid the hassle and pain that this fking pile of fking wk has inflicted on me today.

DO NOT LIKE.

I agree and if you keep it in the boot, the top 'folds' open v. easily after some spirited driving, in my experience with RWD!

Bottle's design looks daft if anything

I agree, whoever designed these should be shot.

Hard to open, don't seal properly and you end up with oil everywhere when you try and pour.

What is wrong with a screwcap?!!

Quite a good looking container, as far as oil containers go, but useless.

It looks typical of things designed by people who will never use them, like the windscreen washer bottle filler on my Vivaro van, it is tucked under the inner wing & almost impossible to top up without using a funnel attatched to a length of hose. The twunts that come up with this sort of st should be made to use it or be shot. Rant rant rant etc etc

I agree with the OP that that is possibly the worst design of spout on an oil bottle for a long time.
(Another case of developing a solution to a problem that didn't exist).

Even Castrol seem to acknowledge this, as new bottles have reverted to the old screw top.

We've been selling the new style for a few weeks now, much better idea.

You mean the old style biggrin

I'm surprised the stupid flap system was used for so long, must have been about 8 years??

Buy Mobil 1. As found in the BRAKE thread the other day, Castrol support them. Suffice to say, I'm not buying Castrol anymore!

i recently purchased a 4l bottle of Castrol Magnatec (big ouch with the price, but at 11 o clock at night and an engine with no oil in it its all i could get) thankfully has the screwlid but still managed to spill a load over the rather hot manifold.

Its one of the worst designs I've seen and the only reason I haven't bought Castrol for years.

Mobil 1 is slightly more expensive, but if you NEED five litres - as most of us do - then it tends to be cheaper than getting the frankly daft 4L Castrol and then another 1L bottle on top.

They have realised the ridiculousness of the design, though - as above, they're only sending out the screw top types now.

It still doesn't have the very good extending spout neck that both Mobil and Halfords oils have had for years, though..

And I thought it was just me that hated those bloody Castrol bottles!

Bought 5 litres of Castrol Edge in one a couple of years ago, at least 50% of it went all over my engine bay/hands/driveway.

Horrible.
