Vinturi Wine Aerator
Discussion
My Brother In Law bought us one for Christmas. I have to say I was very sceptical at first but it really does give the wine more flavour.
I know you can just do the same by leaving the wine open to the air but this does make it taste so much better from a freshly opened bottle!

The difference between aerated/non-aerated wine is like night and day.

is it really any better than pouring it into a jug for 30 minutes while the dinner's on?
Exactly, this gimmick is £50, when a few quid on a pyrex jug and decanter will do the same job, viz: double aeration, as in double decanting. If you can get the wine out and get it to the correct temperature then the time is there to double decant. Just another (expensive) attempt to reinvent the wheel.
As an alternative to the 'jug' or 'decanter' method, try pouring out (and drinking!) a little wine to create some headroom in the bottle, replace the cork / screw cap and then give the bottle a thorough shaking. Your wine is now aerated and still presentable in the original bottle - simples!

Still using it regularly, IMO it really does make a difference.
Likewise - done many blind taste tests for sceptical visitors, and they always choose the vinturi'd glass...I got one of these as a gift a few years back and wholly recommend it; it turned a mediocre bottle into a good one and a good one into a lovely one. My only gripe was that it tended to dribble everywhere but that's a small price to pay.
I stopped drinking about 18 months ago and gave it to my brother who I think still uses it.
