Away next xmas...ideas?
Discussion
A huge sigh of relief from me as xmas is over for this year, so it is time to start thinking of something different to do next time.
I would like to get away with the wife, somewhere overseas for a break from the normal english family xmas celebrations. I would be more than happy to go somewhere where xmas no big deal, possibly with a bit of sunshine and warmth, but not too expensive. We are not 'beach' people and prefer something quietish, away from huge crowds and Brits abroad louts.
I'm trying to ignore any worries about seasonal travel chaos following the snow disruption.
Anyone care to offer any suggestions?

Thailand would be my first choice and second,third.........Staying at the Rimping village hotel in Chiang Mai with a private Elephant safari on Christmas day with Patara Elephant farm followed by a meal at the restaurant near the back entrance to the zoo(can't remember the name) in rediness for Flight of the Gibbon on Boxing day.
This Christmas we took the kids to Orlando and we have all agreed Thailand is the b
ks and from now on we will head east every time.

They have no idea what Christmas is, there's not a beach in sight, loads to do and see and great value.
Elephat safari in Chitwan national Park, trekking, amazing scenery and sightseeing in the hills around Pokhara, rafting on the Sun Kosi (might be a little late for this), be amazed by Katmandhu, temples, culture and adventure.
A truly marvellous country.
