Sagaris bonnet

Has anyone looked into converting the bonnet on their Sagaris to the one piece job like on the MK2? I've been having a look around to try and find a solution for the service bonnet, it has never flown out but does move around at speed so was wondering if a replacement is something which had been considered or done by anyone on here?

I believe Plasticman has done one or two... personally I'd think about 1-piece carbon, that can be easily lifted and locked down by the 4 points...

That's a thought, had chatted to Surface & Design who said they could do a MK2 style but key was a locking/mounting mechanism. Carbon one I guess could be just a straight swap on existing mounts??

That is what I was wondering.... Would the front pins be strong enough for it? I'd probably want fixed (non locking) bolts to put in at the front as a replacement to what we're losing, but everything else looks the same, with much less weight on them....

I was thinking of something along the same lines, figured only possible if light enough to remove. Does anyone know if anyone has looked at this in the past? Would be really keen to look at getting it done

I was going to look into this when I am back in the UK but I am going to be in the USA so much over the next couple of months I am not sure if I will be able to. Any one who gets a price for a 1 piece bonnet in carbon and I would be more than interested.

Some success, after a bit of research think I have a solution which may work. Need to use my existing bonnet as a mould, once that is done should be able to use the mould to create a one piece bonnet in either GRP or carbon fibre. Given the tolerances and individual nature of the bonnets on each car not clear yet as to whether that mould would be able to make subsequent copies for others, although may be a process of tinkering with each individual one to fit.

Hopefully should be able to send my bonnet up next week, fingers crossed! Will post here with where I get to.....

I have fitted someone elses bonnet on my car before as I wanted to see what a dark colour would look like and it fitted. I also put someones service bonnet in my main bonnet and that was ok as well

Bit of a hiatus, mainly because I haven't had time.

Need to try and work out the timings and then firm up some costs and work out how to get a bonnet up to Blackpool for a mould to be made
