So how do you do it?

I know there are special mohair cleaners out there but surely there's a cheaper alternative which will give similar results.

I doubt it's as simple as taking the pressure washer to it. spin

+1

Not bad value at £20

Two applications which will easy last six months each.

The little scrubbing pad sure did take a lot of gunk from mine biggrin

I think I read somewhere that cleaning with warm soapy water and then, when dry, building up layers of black shoepolish is supposed to be a good budget solution. Disclaimer: Please note I've never done this just read it somewhere. Actually has anyone done this, would be interested to see the results.

may not be the best way, but i clean it with the rest of the car (scrub it too) and then when im done i rinse it with soft water (less minerals). It comes out looking black like its supposed to.
Im sure somebody out there knows more on this one than me, im no expert on cleaning cars, and certainly not when it comes to soft tops.

Good thinking on the soft water. I'll be sure to keep the water from the condensor dryer for this.

Pints, remember your roof is a different material to the MK1 and 2 so some of the suggestions might not work so well smile

On my MK2 I use Auto Glym Vinyl Care, brings it up a nice black colour.

Also a good point, since I don't have the vinyl roof.
