I just wanted to drop a quick line to let people know that the chaps at Lloyd Specialist Developments have done a fantastic job on both my RR Classic and TVR Chimaera over the last few months.

I found them on the interet looking for a specialist in the South West having recently moved to the area and I decided to go with them in light of their obvious enthusiasm and "can do" attitude. They also run a RR Classic and a TVR Chimaera so I knew I would be in good hands!

They have now installed a CANEMS engine management system in the TVR, stripped repaired and waxoiled the underside of the RR and replaced the chassis outriggers on the TVR. I cannot fault their work in any respect; their attention to detail is second to none; whether mechanical or electrical. The CANEMS system has transformed the TVR - I was quite emotional when I took it for a test drive as it was completely transformed in terms of manners and performance; smooth torquey delivery from 1000 rpm, no shunting and vicious top end performance. After 6 years of ownership it was honestly like driving a new car. I also gained 20 bhp and 30 ft/lbs with no other modifications.

The metalwork on the RR and TVR is similarly faultless and is accompanied with a slide show presentation showing all the steps of rust removal and metalwork and rustproofing; invaluable for the history of a cherished vehicle. The quality of the welding and fabrication is second to none. Both Dan and Nathan who run the company have engineering degrees and although they are young chaps they clearly know their stuff. They also identify and resolve issues along the way, normally at no extra cost, which makes such a refreshing change.

I would highly recommend these guys to anyone in the region; they will also collect and deliver for a modest charge. Before I had a young family I did all my work myself and have been continually disappointed over the past few years in trying to find people who provide the sort of service and attention to detail as these guys.

Highly highly recommended! (I have no connection other than as a satisfied customer). Website link is: www.lloydspecialistdevelopments.co.uk

I have to second that, The guys did a service on my Chim in September, and in the process cleaned up and overhauled the engine bay.

They listen and understand what you want from the service they provide and come up with some sensible practical solutions.

Cheers

My close freind and fellow Landrover enthusiast purchased an engine management system for his 3.9 V8 powered Defender from Lloyds. We were both massively impressed by the quality and completeness of these kits and cannot recommend them enough.
What really takes the biscuit, is that, once all the necessary extras were included, it actually cost marginally less then it originally cost to convert my Range Rover classic to megasquirt despite being much more robust and fully waterproof! It also appeared to be a great deal more straightforward than my first megasquirt install. The tuning software appears to be Canems specific and is just as straightforward to use, if not easier than megatune or tunerstudio. I will be saving up to purchase one of these kits asap for my offroad project and will post details/pics as soon as I begin work.

Kind regards to all.

Justin.

Wow suspicious and agressive bunch you lot! No I don't work for Lloyd developments or have any affiliation, heck I am not even a customer yet. The comments I made were about an engine management kit that my freind (Jason) purchased for his Landrover 110V8 and I helped install. I made no comments about welding or anything else that this company do??? I think I will stick to my Landrover forums - a lot more freindly and less agressive!
