I've been back three pages and can't find owt for this so thought I'd lead the way.

This is what we do; so if you're thinking of going and don't know what to do for the best, consider similar and swelling the ranks.

Wed night sailing from Hull to Zeebrugge on the 8th June

Drive down to Le Mans via the Calais and usually take the motorway. More adventurous can take the N138 or devise their own route.

Stay at the circuit somewhere. Speed Chills and White Rabbit are options but we usually slum it in D'Arion or Pincenardiere.

Drive back on Monday after the post race festivities.

Chunnel back to the UK on Monday evening at around tea time.

Costs are usually about £100 per car including the room on the boat and about £60 on the chunnel home.

As usual, no-one books for anyone but themselves so it's an opt-in basis and no-one has to collect deposits, and you can choose to convoy through France and back or do your own thing.

I am up for this and have spoke to Guy at White Rabbit - there site is not the cheapest but looks a cracking secure site with no nob heads on it - I have 7 in our group at this stage ( 2 cars ) there site is near the porsche curves so is a good 15 min walk from main grandstand but we could all do with the excercise

I am open to suggestions on sites but have WRR as my fave at this stage

I really want to do this, but don't have the cash at the moment. For a budget, but comfortable weekend how much should you budget for? Also, how late can I leave it before commiting to going and buying tickets etc?

Yep, I'll be there again for LM11. This year we're doing something a bit different - still heading down on Tuesday night overnight from Caen so we get in all the pratice sessions. Still coming back after the race on the Sunday night crossing from Caen. Still drinking too much, smoking too much, eating too much bread, cheese and ham but this year we are staying in a lakeside cabin. No pikey campsite with tents being robbed and local gypo's scavenging through the bins. We're about 10 miles south of Arnage at a nice place which has two bedroom chalets lakeside, outdoor pool, tennis courts and should cost us about £60 each.

Is it a bad idea to leave Hull on Thursday evening to Zebrugge? As that's what I'd planned. I can't get any more time off work, unfortunately.

Depends if you have a guaranteed camping spot or not Al. If you have then no worries, but you will miss in my opinion the best day, with all the meets and drive outs.

Well, I was planning to book the camp site if that's what you mean. I don't suppose if I booked it seperately from you lot there'd be any chance of us being near each other is there?

I'd love to spend a week off, going down early via back-roads and stopping off on the way back, but unfortunately it's a busy week at work and I can't take any more time off.

I'm more worried about whether the traffic will be too bad on Friday...

The traffic will be horrible on the friday of the race weekend, the earlier you can get there the better.

Hello chaps.

WRR camp to big wheel at Maison Blanche is 15 mins if you are not stopping to look at stuff. There are also regular noddy trains from the roundabout up past Bleu to theain entrances which if you are lucky with timings makes it pretty quick. 10 mins walk to Arnage too. A wonderful spot it is!
