X5 bonnet release

I've borrowed an X5 and can't find the bonnet release. I'm in France so all the documentation is in French but even that doesn't seem to tell me where the catch is. I need to top up the screen wash.

Hi,
You don't say what year X5 you have but the 2004 - 2006 model should have a lever just inside the drivers door hinge near the accelerator pedal ( or passenger side if LHD ? ) Pulling this lever should release a lever from the right hand side kidney grill, pull this towards you & the bonnet should lift.
