Afternoon All smile

Does anybody know much about 5th Wheel trailers/toy hauler/Motor sport trailers? I am looking into renting one to see if it is something we would use?

Would be interested in finding somewhere that would rent a 'fiver' that would sleep upto 8 people.

Don't really want to tow a traditional UK spec caravan rolleyes

Just for clarification a Fifth wheel is NOT a caravan, therefore I would NOT be defecting to the darkside biggrin

Thanks for any info

I don't know about them over here, but have used them in the US to pull heavy stuff that should have been on a truck with a full sized pick up.

Whether you have a fifth wheel or a ball hitch in the bed of your pickup, they pull miles better than pulling from the bumper, no matter how big the pickup is. The weight is in the right place and they don;t have the leverage over the drawing vehicle. The rig just feels heavy, not bullied by the trailer.

That's all I can help with.

These guys build them in the UK, don't know if they rent them; may be worth a chat.
The US build quality is shocking, so try to avoid one of them.

I might have a second hand 5th wheel hitch available for sale next week once I've taken it out of the truck if it's of any use.

The truck is down the workshop at the moment having a few bits done. I bought it with the hitch already in it but have no use for it. As soon as it's back I'll let you know what make the hitch is.
