opinions on changing leather colours

Ive got a black cerb with full magnolia leather. I was thinking of changing the door cards to black leather or alcantara and maybe do the seat inserts the same. Anybody got this done if so could you post a picture so as I can see it before I go ahead and do it. Im not sure which to use either leather or alcantara I would appreciate your opinions.

Hi Aubrey,

Nice to see that you are styill about...I am whipping the door cards off my cerb ...I guess they were originally purple , but the previous owner thought it would be good to cover them and the purple roof lining with bright yellow alcantara....and it looks rubbish.

I managed to get half a hide in the original purple...will be doing the door cards speakers bins in this...so back to leather..

I will get the door cards "quilted" in a diamond pattern, along with the arm rest.
The speaker bins will just be covered in purple leather..

I need to sort out the helmet stuffer too...he put a massive speaker in there...just want to put back to original....so after an original item which I will cover..

Be good to talk to you about your paint job too...

to be honest the speaker system without the subwoofer is terrible. you can still retain the helmet holder look with a sub. Steve_T has a very nice set up in his which looks stock.

Nice to hear from you.I will pop over to the next meeting if I get chance and show you the spray job. The quilted leather sounds nice. I popped over to trimtek yesterday and had a look at some coverings for my car. Still cant decide on changing to alcantara or not but the prices they gave were excellent. Why are you taking the alcantara out of your car is it just the colour or dont you like alcantara. Ive only ever seen alcantara on a roll so I dont know what its like in the car. Still undecided so I may just get the door cards done for now and see how it goes.

WRT quilted leather - there was a recently rebuilt Sag at Chatsworth last year that had been retrimmed and IMO looked the dog danglies

IMHO alacantara will look pants. Normal leather is great or quilted if done well.

Only rooflining should be alcantara.

Cheers Aubrey...yes the colour is too much in your face (even for me)...but on top of this the workmanship is poor and the yellow has gone very dirty in the areas where the doors and window open.

I have nothing against alcantara...can look really good, bit think the leather option that I will go for should wear better and suit the colour scheme of my cerb.

I quite like alcantara

The Mrs had lcantara panels on her Pug but by 3 years of ownership it looked like complete tat - beware IMO
