So you assume, that there were 993 Cerbera chassis build in 1997? I would not believe that to be true, thinking of 1500 Cerberas all together.

Björn.
No. The four-digit build number was common to ALL cars, not just Cerberas.

Thanks for that, It's just that it's got a 4.5 GT engine, I have a letter from TVR to say that it was a 4.5 from new. Wonder if the first owner change there mind just before delivery?!

OK, got you.

That could be true, 1594 TVRs built that year.

Cheers,
Björn.

Probably not. TVR probably issued whatever they felt like. Mine is a factory 4.5, has GT on the ECU, but so did loads of them. Also has a 4.2 exhaust from the factory - discovered when I fitted de-cat pipes. 4.2 cats are longer. Mine is a 1999 car.

The early 4.5s were on the log book as 4.2s. Mine is a '98 and is a 4.5 but on the V5 as a 4.2

also 5 - Internal check digit (to check if chassis number is genuine)mine is a 7?
it also says 1001 at the end indicating 1st chassis of the year?

Disappointed... Just checked mine out, build March 1996, 4.2 catted... none of this 4.5 gt stuff... that's like buying a house with a treasure chest in the hidden cellar!!

Just decatted it today and fitted sports pipes... do I need a remap??

Just trying to get all the correct information on N528 GRN (Doris) for the TVR Car Club so they can tell its' story on their stand at the Restoration show NEC at the end of this month.

We have the TVR Engineering Development car, (ex- pyromanic owned car -which we sold to and bought back from him) which we have been restoring for the past two years.

We bought it direct from TVR Engineering 21st July 2005.

It has a slightly different nose - based on the MK 1 Chimaera front with the extra sections riveted on to make the Mk 2 Chimaera front/Cerbera nose, different suspension front sections and the interior from the crashed factory car that was used by Pioneer to fit/work out what audio system to use for the model.

Full chassis number is SDLFAC2P7TA011001

Any clues on what that means - is it the first or second registered/ road legal Cerbera produced after the mule / test cars that weren't registered?

We have spoken to Ben Samuelson this week on it but he can't remember much at present on that time with the cars.

January 1995 build date.
