So your 19 with a GT2? But according to your profile you bought an e46 in 2007 when you would have been 16 at the most?
Id call the insurance company who looked after you with that!

Thanks, I have had some luck with a quote with Admiral online.

Please please do not use Admiral to insure any supercar. They may be cheap but I can guarantee you you'll regret it if you actually have an accident, I know I have in spades. In my humble opinion they are about as useful as tits on a fish. As soon as my claim is complete, I'm going to drop them quicker than a handful of fresh dog poo. PM me if you would like to know why. I don't care if my insurance goes up by £500, (if you drive a supercar the increase is almost inconsequential compared to the rest of the running costs) I'm going elsewhere

Used to be with Admiral when I first bought the car. Didn't have a problem but didn't make a claim. (Have on an ordinary car in the past, no problems)

Last year decided to look at Michael Ward, got a better price than Admiral and agreed value as well. Might be pot luck but it is always worth ringing around.

Can't say by the sounds of things if I am going to be as lucky this year.

I've only used Admiral to replace my windscreen; never in my life a real claim so can't comment. But given that the replacement cost is equal to the annual amount I pay them and it was done in a phone call or two I'm pretty happy...

Listen to this guy!!

Only use budget insurance for cars you do not care about (otherwise pray to god you never have to claim).

Using Admiral Group (Elephant etc.) is a complete false economy with a decent car.

Try FOOTMAN JAMES.

I'm a younger though not as young anymore supercar driver and they were great for me recently when my previous insurers stopped doing under 30's.

Usually comes with FREE European Breakdown cover too.

I'm very chuffed with them so far.

I'll have a look at them when I change.

Have you actually made a claim with them though? Call me cynical, but every insurance company does a good job if they're cheap and you don't actually have to use them!

I'd leave Admiral if somebody else offered me a reasonable price but the simple fact for me at least is that I pay £1500 to them for my V8V against about £5000 as the next cheapest quote and most just won't even quote. However bad they might be, over 3 years that extra £10500 I'm prepared to balance against the risks of actually needing to make a big claim (anything under £5k I'd pay myself anyway).

I pay under £1000 on the Gallardo, 28 years of age, no tracker!

Can't argue with that!

Mario, try Michael Ward Associates.

I have claimed through them and was very impressed.

To be fair, it is quite a clever business model.

Undercut the competition by a huge margin on premiums, but be so cr4p that no one would ever put a claim through you unless they absolutely had to!!

F355 spider, 28yrs, car parked on street in a not particularly great london postcode, no tracker required, no CAT 1 alarm required, 8k miles per year: £700 with a £500 excess

It's how they get their business. Like Jonathan says, it's a "good" model as you'd never claim unless you absolutely had to like i did (well, was actually forced to)
