Hi Guys,

Im after a gearbox with the diff mounted at the rear of the casing rather than at the front ala G50.

A little while a go someone put pictures of a small radical type car with a V6 in it, and it had the type of box Im after. [Cant remember the name although it sounded foreign]

Any help?

Thank you,

Annie

I assume you mean similar to this one from a Alfa GTV6

The Porsche 928 , and late model Corvettes C5? Also have a similar transaxle

But the Audi has the diff nearer the front of the gearbox housing like a G50, which the OP isn't interested in.

Thank you,

I think we've narrowed it down to the alfa and porsche.

Are there any specs on these gearboxes i.e. Torque ratings etc?

We've looked into the corvette option and it would only work if it was automatic as the shifter comes out inside of the bell housing. [Well technically the torque tube housing]

Thank you,

Annie

I guess a dig around some of the forums may come up with specs.

Only other one I could think of was from the Volvo 340/360's
Someone using one in this project

The V-Storm uses a Suaru Impreza box with the rear drive closed off, seems to work quite well. Alos Renault 21 turbo engines and boxes are used in some of the Spire kits. If budget isn't too much of an option, Hewland make plenty for several applications.
