Can't say I agree with that. I use RB for buying and selling both retro and more modern stuff. Very useable site, and friendly bunch. Great feedabck system, so you know your dealing with reputable types (99% of the time).

I've successfully sold two road bikes on BikeRadar over the last few years. Both times, the chaps who came to buy them were nice guys and had no problems with time wasters or anything.

Pinkbike is OK, but I was getting 3-4 messages a day alone the lines of

"nIc3 bike m8, wanna swop 4 a quad/BSO/playstation"

or "wkd bike m8, I'd deffo by it if I had the cash _ im gonna ask Mum if I can have it for my joint birthday / xmas pressie"

It was a nearly new custom cove shocker I was asking £2.5k for...

eBay is still best I find, go for a classified or high reserve if you don't fancy a gamble on an auction.

Only ever use singletrack or ebay for buying/selling bike bits. Had great success with both, singletrack's been great for picking up niche stuff (29er singlespeed) once folk realise they don't actually enjoy it after being taken in by the Next Big Thing...

I just wish I bought a load of 300LX shifters back in the day.... the fools are paying >£50 for them now "because thats what my Saracen Tufftrak had when it was new"
