Visa Debit Error

Interesting one here, at the hogmanay function I paid for the drinks bill at the end of the night, popped it all on my Visa Debit card. Yesterday I looked at my bank statement and saw the transaction had been processed twice, called the venue and only one transaction had taken place. Called the (RBS) bank who passed me onto Visa dispute (NatW) as there has been an issue/fault where peoples accounts are being deducted twice when processed through (BoS), intro voicemail states "processing error has led to the duplicating of transactions, BoS has a recovery plan in place". Initially it was transactions with a few larger retailers but now spreading to smaller outlet such as my local so might be an idea to have a nosy at your accounts because sure as none of the banks have issued a statement or notified any of their customers of this issue.

Hmmm I wonder what they are doing with all this money that is sitting somewhere and not in the retailers accounts !!!

Wow... cheers for the heads up mate!
I try not to pay for stuff via the card - always cash if I can ... there's always that one time you're short on pocket change though and have to just use it...

I'll be keeping an eye on my account

Cheers, that's good to know its out there,I scanned a few papers and BBC news website but found nothing so far. 200,000 people, well that's a good few million £'s in an abyss until refunded !!!

Our lass took my debit card with her on new years eve and when i checked my online statements yesterday i had been charged twice for each transaction.
However all the duplicate transactions were refunded into my account earlier today
