New porsche owner alert...!!!

Hi all, been debating for a few months now on what type of car to buy next and to be honest i was 99% sure it was to be a TVR.. that is until i took out a Boxster S.

Not as quick but still allot of fun and easy to drive, So my head over ruled my heart and the reliability and re-sale value won. So i bought it there and then....!!!

I am already looking to upgrade things on it, the first being the alloys. I'm contemplating either 18's or maybe 19's... so any advice out there regarding prefered sizes and styles....??

18" Sport Design (GT3) wheels look the mutt's nuts.

(See profile)

Check your model year - 18s are not a good idea on older cars - I think it was 2001 (? IIRC) 18s were introduced.

Do you hav 16" or 17" wheels on yours now? Beware - the 18" wheels *will* behave differently. The tyres cost a good deal more - and if you have the sports suspension 18" are generally accepted as being a bad idea.

I wouldn't consider 19" rims, myself. Or any non-Porsche wheel for that matter. That part IMO of course...

I have 18" Sport Design wheels on my Boxster S and they certainly look good its a close call between them and Turbo look. However if you ever kerb them the laquer comes off and looks crap on the shiny rim, and they are an arse to clean, but they do look good, ride quality and grip are good just a bit thrashy on the pothole stuff. If you were looking at a TVR then it will be fine, certainly dont mind over the old Elise.
