Yes - all this info is not "top secret" but try not to publish it everywhere....use a little common sense!

I have seen several unfortunate attempt to describe what is apparently a way to get into our cars in 'emergency mode'... but I still don't have a clue how this works - other than slashing the hood open with a machette, which in fact apply to all convertible!
Would someone be kind enough to email me some explanations? Who knows I may have to use it one day.
Ta!

I'm sure someone will show you at Chatsworth if you go.
Its a doddle - I've had to do it once when (and you'll probably laugh) I managed to lock myself out of the car with the engine running.

Got home, jumped out of the car to open the garage door. Didn't shut the car door properly, and the solenoid buzzed for a few seconds then gave up.
Got back to the car after opening the garage, and found that the door wouldn't release. Thought, aha, I'll get in the passenger side. Nope that wouldn't open. So had to get in the other way and turn the ignition off and on. DOH!

Would someone mind sharing this with me too, as I could have used that info after locking myself out of an also running car just after I bought it...

Your turn Bit touchy about fairly obvious stuff? Maybe the tea leaves are bit denser most places than they are round 'ere

I left the lights on and ran down the battery yesterday. There wasn't enough power left to switch off the alarm. So rather than wait for the AA I had a bash at breaking in. 5 minutes later I was in with no damage to the car. Its frighteneing how quickly you could get in with a little practice!!

If there is a correct way to open the doors in an emergency I would be grateful if someone could e-mail it to me.

looks like you already know! security in a convertible is a non starter - lets be honest. If some scrote wants to get in, then out comes their stanley knife & hey presto. So lets not get to het up about the security on our motors.

Could someone forward it on to me as well please? (having very nearly locked the keys in the boot the other day... I presume your pretty stuck without a spare set?)

Dunno about access to the boot without keys.

Let's be sensible here.

Make sure you only email details to people you know, and who are bona fide TVR owners. Otherwise it's just the same as posting the details publicly; any scrote who wants to find out the details just has to register and request an email ....

Not casting any aspersions on those who have already asked for this of course

Perhaps we can have a 'teach-in' at Chatsworth

I went clubbing in Bournmouth a few years ago and managed to lock the only set of keys for the car in the boot.

Got into the car, quite simpily as I'm sure you all know, then here comes the clever part. Opened the boot without the keys.
