Yep. 650bhp doesn't usually help the situation though wink

The first time this happened we plated the floor so that it would distribute the load across the whole underside of the floor. Well it did that and just continued to rip the whole floor off the bottom of the chassis rails.

The fix to make sure it doesn't happen again. If you look closely the to bolts you see mounted to the brace actually go down and bolt the rear subframe mounts to this brace. Try pulling that done now you stupid car.

common now on e46

fixed under goodwill by bmw as long as you dont have a/m rims/suspension

takes a few weeks and cost them £5-6k

BUt that one above is very bad, the onwner must have been deaf not to hear the creaking and groaning for the past 5000 miles

Normally starts with crack on the rear subframe mounts on the boot skin underneath, typically rear left and forward right then cracks up to the boot floor

Friend of mine had his repaired under warranty and he had aftermarket suspension and brakes.Heard about some dealers kicking up a fuss over here in the uk so it depends where you go.Friend had a damper go on his e92 m3 and because he had eibach springs on one dealer said no so he went to another local one and they said no problem. These are the same springs bmw use on their sport packs confused In germany they just dont bother within reason, and their customer service is amazing compared to most over here.
Another favourite over here is "have you been on track"?.When i took my m3 in for its first oil change i said to the service staff that if anyone dared to ask me if my car had been on track i would shoot them smile as bmw supply track day experience cars to brands hatch rockingham oulton park nurburgring etc etc obviously giving out the message that they should never be used on track and that m cars are meant to be driven slow at all times, and they were great. smile
