Hi, I currently have a Porsche gt2 which I love to bits. It's in storage for the winter and I've just been musing about leaving it there for the summer and driving a Ferrari instead. I've had porsche's for years and fancy a change just for thus year. So big question for me is 360 or pay up for a 430? Weekends only and a few longer trips to various circuits for my Caterham racing (including Belgium). I'm minded to go for the 360 but to be honest that's based on nothing more than a hunch. Would have to be a manual coupe. Any thoughts appreciated. Many thanks

IMHO, 430 is streets ahead and well worth the extra pennies.

There's currently 4 430 manuals on www.Ferrariapproved.com ranging from 69,850 up to 79,995. A Black, Grey and two reds. So yeah not that many around compared to F1.

Having had a GT2 and now a manual F430 coupe I can promise you that you will love it. That said, I'm sure a 360M will blow you away aswell.

I prefer the 360, it's rawer. A lot are not that quick or not running properly but if you get a good one! Prefer the sound of the 360 too, that 430 low revs bark gets sooo boring especially when you live in London. 355 sounds best of course.

I've never driven a 360 so can’t comment on what it's like however I've got a 355 and a 430 spider so should be able to help. My view is that the 430 felt like a considerable jump forward from the 355 in terms of driving so I'm guessing the 360 is somewhere in the middle. You said you would like a manual, I originally was looking for a manual and decided to for the F1 in the 430 which I haven't regretted for a second, it's brilliant. Having said that, F1 is not for everyone and I completely understand those who don't like it. There are considerably fewer Manual 430s going about but I wouldn't let that put you off, you can still get one and it will probably be a couple K cheaper which is never a bad thing!

Walkersport have a good buying guide on their website for the 360 which is definitely worth a look
http://www.walkersport.co.uk/index.php

I guess it al comes down to how much you want to spend. You can pick up a god 360 for £45k whereas you will be looking at £70k for a 430. Another point to remember, is that if you want Ferrari's official warranty then you will either have to buy from their approved used or buy somewhere else and get Ferrari to add the warranty on. From memory it costs about £2k-2.5k. It is only available on cars up to 9 years old if I remember rightly.

If I were you I would go drive both and see what you think.

Hope that helps, if you have any more questions feel free to PM me.

Cannot comment on 430 but 360 will feel and is slower than ur current Pork.

My 360 was superb in black w/ CS wheels, ran beautifully, sounded astonishing...but was slow compare to my X50 430bhp 993TT S specced - nor did it handle as well around track and twisties.

10kmiles in 4months! No problem.
