I've just had a lowering spring kit fitted to my 03 WRX wagon. I've been contimplating doing it for over a year and finally decided to go for it. Greenwood Racing in Chobham has a set of used STI springs so rather than folk out for a new kit, they were fitted yesterday. So far I'm extremely impressed. The handling is so much better - less bodyroll and crisper turn in. I also think the ride feels more planted, yes, it is slightly firmer but not overly-so. The car also sits better too. I'm really pleased I've had it done and look forward to discovering a totally new car.

Just interested to know if anyone else has had this done. Pro's or cons?

Yes I did. It's been set up properly and now steers so much better. As I said, it drives like a completely different car. Well worth the money.

I fitted Tein S springs to my GTO, only lowered it a little over an inch but def helped the look of the big gap between tyre and wheel arch that alot of Jap cars seem to have. My ride has not been affected but car feels much more direct and have had no issues with clearance. I opted to only lower it this much as any further requires modded rear control arms.

My GTO was lowered by about 40mm.
+1 on reducing the huge wheel arch gap but the main advantage was in reduced roll and improved stability on cornering.
On the other hand, I do have problems with speed humps, deep (>6") snow or potholes and I did have to have suspension arm extenders fitted to get the geometry right.

I fitted Tein springs with Koni shocks to my rx8, it handled a millions times better afterwards which surprised me considering the handling was already so good.

Full Tein setup with EDFC from James a couple of years back :-)

Try a thicker rear arb and the whiteline anti-lift kit too. Both have had good reviews from fellow Surreyscoobiers.
