I'm going to the two MCG fixtures 14th after werk and 16th for the Sunday ODI. Gonna dust off the "COP THAT SOAPSHY banner one more time in the faint hope that it gets more of a run than it did on Boxing Day

I hope it get's more of a run too.

There is a fresh(er) attack and it doesn't matter quite as much if the batsmen don't use their feet so long as they swing bloody hard at the ball.
I sure do hope we have different coaches for the shorter form because the test guys did f
k all to try and sort out the technical problems in the longer game.suthol said:

That's down to the selectors first of all.....you can't really work on technical flaws in the middle of a series (especially with back to back tests) as it's generally a backwards to go forwards thing. They need to say to the likes of Hughes and Khawaja that they think they can be playing at the top order of the Aussie test team for ten years but to do that you need to go and spend six months learning how to play and leave outside off stump. Both of them have got a technique that has come through playing a lot of one day cricket and making runs against average attacks...to make the step up to test cricket the first thing they have to do is learn how to occupy the crease. The biggest problem the modern cricketer has is that it's a year round game and there's very little opportunity to go away and work on technique....it's what England did with KP at the end of the summer which he was fuming about at the time....bet he isn't now.
k all to try and sort out the technical problems in the longer game.I think the one day series could be a cracker....have to say I am not a huge fan of hit and giggle but I'll watch this one.

The Crims might even make it a little interesting with Lee and Tait back in the side.
Now that will make it interesting. Two properly fast bowlers who can actually bang it in somewhere near the sticks. And we're sending our best batsman home to give you a chance, guys!

Good luck with that. Bob Hope and Maurice Hope. Both brown bread.

Your lot hardly raised a sweat, our bloody selectors got it right again and only picked one bowler who knows where the stumps are.
Perhaps he is the only one you have....
We have another guy Mark Cameron who swings it both ways and hits the stumps but missed pretty much all of last grade / shield season due to injury.
ppl going to the pub to watch crikit - whoda thunk it....
s/be a good competetive series and good prep for both teams for world cup...
as per my correct ashes series prediction I'm going to plump for - wait for it....a drawn series.
I just think we'll hit the ground hard and fluff a bit tbh and pick up towards the end of the series.
20-20 couldn't care less
