My Experience with Plans Motorsport.
Discussion
Gents,
I have a GTO3 and have had the usual woes, manifolds, floor leaking, diff letting go etc. Back in August I did a charity track day, well 7 laps actually before my 5 speed gearbox said enough was enough.
The 5 speed boxes with the correct ratios are not easy to come by, but Plans motorsport had one on the shelf.
Having read through some of the search items on this forum about your experiences with Plans, I was put off using them, but I went with them anyway.
The price was reasonable, considerably cheaper than what I paid for the engine out and LSD exchange 2 years ago.
The car was collected, engine out, gearbox exchange, redress and delivered back to me.
I had issues with some ancillary parts working loose and a water leak. Each time Plans collected the car and delivered it back. This was a 50miles round trip with a trailor.
I had one rattle that could not be traced. This was not there prior to the engine out, so was very much the responsibility of Plans to find and fix.
They then had the car for 2 more weeks.
The fault was found to be the gear linkage cable rattling on the bulk head when the engine was under load. Very difficult to find when stationery. This was re-routed and hey presto.
However, during the time spent on the car, Plans tightened and tied down every loose hose nut and bolt, new exhaust gaskets and fittings regardless of whether they had interfered with it or not.
The car has been back with me for a month and it is like a new car. Not a rattle or a noise out of place. I didn’t realise it before, but it must have sounded like a bag of nuts and bolts.
The upshot is, my experience with Plans was a good one. They were professional and took ownership of the car until I was satisfied.
The service received was excellent and I will happily use them again.

I think you'll find that I've left a few and just to re-itterate my experiance with a certain garage now residing down the A24, I had a right royal shafting for over double the quoted figure for a "service" (£1600+)
and the very next day the front turbo hose blew off because they had left the jubilee clip loose.I hate dealers taking the piss, and I never let it go.
