Hi all, Well here's my first post to this great forum, from a fellow classic TVR nut. I have a Vixen S2 and a project Vixen S2 with 302 V8, s/s chassis and Viper rear end. I'm currently looking for Sparto front indicators for a Vixen. Can someone help? Last year I contacted the regular channels, but to no avail. But maybe something has come up in the meantime.

Neil I think you missed the word Sparto!! Sparto was a car accessory manufacturer who made aftermarket lights etc. They found themselves on all kind of things in the 1950,s and 1960S. After the war many utilty cars like Land Rover only had 1 rear light and at some point it became a legal requirement to have 2 so initially they were all red. Eventually they made amber lensed ones to fit to cars which had semaphore indicators to make them more visible in the ever increasing trafic and ulimatly they made white ones to fit as revesing lights. Very rare to find nowadays and most Vixens/Tuscans have had them replaced as they got broken or rotted.I have a few new and good used ones but will probably eventually put them on ebay. Got a Vixen S3 in the garage too waiting for a bit of tlc which still has good working Spartos, original sidelights, seats etc. Originality is where the value is.

The Sparto Part Number is 57101 . On an internet search I came up with a supplier that is offering lense covers for that Sparto Lamp. The link is here; http://pablanchard.co.uk/product.asp?productID=360...

You will have to contact them to confirm that he has that exact lense. The red lenses sell on e-bay, but the amber ones are harder to find. The rubber boots that support the lense and trim ring are available through Land Rover Parts Suppliers. I found them in the US at Land Rivers South. If you need that info let me know. The above supplier also offers a part number for the trim ring. I am curious what you find. Good luck with your search.
