Hoping for a bit of a steer - I'm toying with the idea of getting an E46 M3 and have seen this:

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2370343.htm

Although the colour wouldn't be my first choice I do quite like it. On the face of it the car looks nice - good specification (I'd prefer a manual) and low miles etc.

Any comments?

Anything missing from making it a really nice specification?

Anyone know the car or dealer?

All comments gratefully received.

Thanks.

Noticed the wheels need doing but must admit didn't spot the headlight washer cover was missing - now you've pointed it out I wonder how I missed it originally!!

Thanks.

Bluetooth and heated seats seem to be the only things missing. Also being a 2002 car make sure the engine recall work has been done, otherwise go for it!

I think it was all cars pre july 2003. There was a problem with the oil pump/filter system which was causing main crank bearings to fail. All cars should've been recalled by now and were fixed under warranty by bmw, though if it was me i would still check just to make sure.

Thanks - don't mind adding an aftermarket bluetooth device if I need one - heated seats would be nice - I must be a bit soft 'cos I love them in my E60 and 997 - it would be a weekend car so not too fussed about them not being fitted though.

Useful to know to check the recall work was done.

Thanks - given this one might be bought for around £2k more and has around half the mileage I'd say it looks a fair asking price.

Yeah seems a fair price for the milage. I think red is the best colour for the e46 M3, but thats just my opinion. Just make sure you go over the car properly.....why would a dealer put the car up for sale on PH with the washer cover missing? Has it been in an accident? does the washer extend and scoosh? etc etc etc usual stuff and questions smile
